Is Home Inspections Inc. “Certified”?

The home inspection industry is unregulated in this state.  There is no local or state certification of Inspectors, unlike many other states that have implemented regulations on this profession. 

Home Inspections Incorporated requires all inspectors to hold Hawaii State Contractor Licenses.  This is the highest form of certification, as licensing requires proof of competency in the industry and verifies experience. 

How can I determine if my inspector has adequate building industry experience?

We recommend using inspectors who are Hawaii State Licensed Contractors.

While not every licensed contractor makes a good inspector, we believe the best inspectors are licensed contractors.

Professionals who are licensed carry documented experience, with a higher degree of dedication to their industry.  In addition to having proven a level of proficiency in their trade and understanding local codes and practices, a licensed contractor is less likely to make careless or reckless statements in a report.
