Sometimes knowledge and experience just aren’t enough.  Taking the information obtained during an inspection and molding it into a report that is accurate and relevant  constitutes the real value and purpose of having a home inspection.  The ability to produce a thorough, understandable report is the hallmark of our staff at Home Inspections Inc. 

Every report is customized to effectively describe the subject property.   We are not limited by the boundaries of pre-printed forms or other dedicated formats that may not address the special needs of each inspection.

Originally, back in the eighties, our reports were written essay style.  As the industry grew, more customers requested a “check-off” style list.  While this is a desirable format, it leaves too much to misunderstanding.  Designed by our staff, our custom reports combine the ease of a check-off list with the detail of extensive comments.  In addition to identifying members, fixtures, components, and applications; we provide summaries as needed to explain many items that cannot be classified as merely “acceptable”.  Our reports bridge the expanse between a list and a logical, understandable, easy to read report on the existing conditions of the property.

“What does this mean?” – how many times have you either heard or said that in reference to an inspection report?    Have you ever struggled under the deadline with an inspection that identifies fixtures or components, but doesn’t explain applicable relevance? At Home Inspections Inc. we put time and effort into each custom report.  It is our belief that you should understand the report on its own.  Of course, we are happy to provide as little or as much verbal explanations as  requested by any of our clients.

Our reports are usually completed and faxed by the end of the next business day.  Under certain circumstances (such as fitting another inspection into a very busy schedule) we notify the client, in advance, that an additional day is required to complete the report.
